Re: AFIS market . . . . The list in your link on FBI-approved AFIS vendors is not especially frightening. You have IDX, DBII, Printrak, Fingermatrix, Heimann, NEC, and Imaging Technologies. Fingermatrix is out of business. NEC's product uses IDX. Heimann and Imaging Technologies (with which I am unfamiliar) do not appear to have any US installations. I think Heimann uses a palm scanner, and with NEC won the Japan deal some time ago. That leaves US competitors IDX, DBII and Printrak. Same as always, and IDX is winning the lion's share of these deals.
