Sorry about that I've been out of touch all day.

Thanks again for the research you did to come up with this frightening story. There are so many snakes of all sizes and kinds out there dreaming up scams to victimize other people, especially older people. The regulators can't even keep up, and it's doubly difficult when there's nothing directly illegal about it. The only protection is really publicity so that as older people get more involved in direct dealings on the market they also become more familiar with the risks inherent.

I was reading in the Post the other day about a scam from Canada into the States some bunch were calling up older people and saying they had won a Lottery but they would have to put up enough to pay Canadian taxes and exchange costs before they could get their $3 million. One old lady advanced almost $200,000 . Also I understand there are some really slippery "market Makers in the US. CNBC had a story on last week about a lady who placed a market order when a stock was at $53, subsequently got filled at $64, and when she complained was offered $60 and on refusing that was offered $57. That's like playing golf and they won't tell you what the par for the hole is till after you've finished shooting.
I've never placed a "Market " order in my life and I'm not about to start now.

Keep up the good work Lilian. let's try to figure some way of creating more publicity. Maybe SI can help??
