We, the People elect officials for whatever reason we elect our officials.
But what We, the People don't do is tell them to interpret the law, just read it and obey it, enforce it, as we are expected to do.
If the elected officials impeach, I don't care if it is by one vote or by a wagonload of votes, CLINTON is still IMPEACHED!!!
PERIOD.
And that is "something, Eric!!!' At least in this nation it is!!! I submit to you that any elected official lying about anything and obstructing any justice, is an "EVENT." Here in Oregon, we just canned a Congressional Representative who lied in a publicity brochure for claiming a military service record he never had!!!
Now the SENATE EVENT called "a trial" begins.
And yep, "We, the People..." elected those officials as well.
And to remove some of the partisan politics of the Senate political machinery, our 3rd branch of government now gets into the act. That is our Law Interpretation Branch. If anyone can whip a bunch of elected LAWYERS called our Congress into shape, and point out the nuances of the Laws of Perjury, High Crimes, Misdemeanors, and Obstruction of Justice in this great land of ours, it is the Supreme Court, I assure you.
The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of this land, is now in charge.
Who elects the Supreme Justice of the Supreme Court?

and for all those disgruntled, whining folks who are polled here in America (---and BOY, OH BOY, wouldn't I like to know if those same polled "theys" bothered to even vote during the last 6 years, let alone back when the Chief Justice was appointed by a President...)
