Hey Monty, don't get me wrong. I said I liked reprints of Favors' comments on the thread. Just because it is probably a violation of copyright to do so doesn't mean I want Professor Patterson to stop it.

[As to stretching the concept of fair use to its limits, law professors depend more than most other academics on xeroxed handouts and, from my observation, most seem particularly untroubled by the copyright law. ;0}]

I didn't start this discussion and I'm perfectly happy to drop it. However, I was unable to leave Elroy's interpretation as the last word as, IMO, he was incorrect (must be the professor in me too). As for Professor Patterson's claim that he is presenting the material for critique and therefore under the fair use exception is, again IMO, rather dubious, but I'll buy it. Kip
