Grayhairs...

Like others on this thread I appreciate your obvious knowledge of the oil-patch and, specifically, your willingness to share some of it with us.

Please correct me if I'm wrong (being a skeptic at heart I find it necessary to be suspicious of everything,) but my understanding is that the size of the flair is NOT indicative of the size of the reservoir. It IS indicative of the pressure or flow rate.

The length of time that the flair continues to burn at a consistent rate IS indicative of the reservoir (or of changing conditions within the zone... ie influx of water from outside the zone?..?)

Seeing the media (Christie) saying that "...there's a lot of gas being burned." means nothing. The term "a lot" and other such quantitative terms tossed about by media types, particularly, are very poor measurements AT BEST. At worst they're deceptive.

Tell us... We've heard speculation, laid at the door of nameless experts, of TCFs in this reservoir. How likely is it that a single well has tapped into a reservoir of this magnitude without consideration to any other zones in the formation?

Personnaly, I'll agree with Mike although he didn't say it outright. I'd be happy with 100 BCF from the first well in this FIELD. And that's even considering that we may be burning off 10 or 20 BCF before this particular well is sealed.
