In VHS Vs BETA, it was the dumb consumer that choose the winner.
The Telcos may be slow, but they are not Dumb, and will choose
the better technology. As both try to prove their wears.

As for patent's you hit it on the mark.

But Amati cannot do anything until a company sells a DMT modem
for commerical use.
