The Direct Stock Plan Clearinghouse (800-774-4117) is a centralized resource for what Chuck Carlson calls "No-Load Stocks" (tm). It's a New York-based central location where investors can order prospectuses for the Dividend Reinvestment Plans for a multitude of companies that sell initial shares directly to the public. There is no charge to investors to receive the prospectuses, since the site is underwritten by Carlson's publishing company (Northstar Financial) and another company in New York. Upshot of all this is that you'll probably hear a couple ads for "DRIP Investor" and "No-Load Stocks", two of Carlson's publications, but you'll also be able to get the prospectuses for a number of companies with a minimum of hassle. DRIP Investor is a good publication that comes out monthly via First-Class Mail, edited by Chuck Carlson. They used to offer a free sample copy but I don't think they have that offer in place anymore; you can find it at some public libraries, or you can get a subscription form by calling them at 219-852-3220. It's a great way to keep up with companies that have DRIPs as well as to get some more detailed analysis on them, monthly. Regards, Rick
