It's the American people who are on trial, O'49er. Our fitness for self-government is becoming extremely questionable. Just as so many have allowed this man to pervert and subvert our laws and our system of justice, it's becoming easier to foresee the day when the possession of firearms or gold will be considered a criminal act, those items being proscripted to all hands but those of the government. The power of the government to confiscate and redistribute wealth must be maintained and increased at all costs, the law and our liberty included.
