It's also depressing to hear that JMD bought the Q phone for his wife and that it drops more calls than the cheaper phones. And Q is the Rolls of the fleet...What a DRAAAAAAAAAAG!

I 've been dropping into places that rep Sprint and BAM here in NYC. BIG change from last year. LOTS of CDMA phones..MOT Star Tac and others, Audiovox has a nice phone that comes in black or a sort of polished chrome which is quite compact, Samsung, Sony, Nokia. Despite the fact that there are few QCOM phones to be found this is all good news for QCOM.

Also stopped by Unwired Planet to look at GSM offerings. This stuff is definitely "hipper", all multicolored and "modern". It's a little hard to see why Nokia is outselling Ericsson to such an extent. Ericy phones are smaller and slicker looking IMO., even though they are a bit boxy.Maybe it's the specs, which I didn't have time to get into. The Unwired Planet store is in SOHO, a very boutiquey atmosphere..Fashion its essence.

Maybe Tero can explain this once more. Why is Nokia selling so many more phones than everyone else?.
