So what's to stop everyone else from copying the five line display, dynamic font etc?

I assume we're moving in the direction of say three optimum phone models, one smaller, one larger, and perhaps a PDA type phone. Of course they'd all be available in the color of your choice, they'll all head towards similar standby times , in essence a commodity a la PC, market share going to the most cost efficient producer.

OF COURSE standby times, ergonomics and sex appeal matter. It would be foolish to pretend they don't, they certainly do virtually everywhere else.

What about Siemens and Bosch? Their phones look just as nice as Nokia phones IMO.
