Regarding Amzn. I am truly amazed that people continue to buy this stock on speculation about future earnings. AMZN is nothing more than a well run website. Just think about the barrier to entry. THERE IS NONE! What does it cost to set up a web site and the delivery system? Not much. A few million? There are alot of people out there who can put together that sort of venture capital to challenge them. Right now Barnes and Noble and Borders are getting into the e-commerce market. Other groups such as Yahoo and Imall sell books, software, audio and other stuff too. The biggest expense is advertising. And although name recognition counts for a whole lot, BNB and Borders have much deeper pockets.

I've been trained to look for companies who provide a first rate product or service that doesn't have to viciously compete on price. Some earnings is nice too. AMZN is at the other end of that spectrum.

I'm just staggered that all this money is being directed to AMZN and other internet stocks while companies like GENZL, with great potential (perhaps not as flashy as the internet), languish in the single digits. And GENZL's products have huge barrier's to entry: R&D, patents, physician training, laboratories and that big barrier that is the FDA.

I'd short AMZN, but if I were a shorter, I'd have done so when it was around 100. I'd have lost my shirt and underwear too. Of course, I'm doing that with GENZL right now.

I hope no one minds my running at the mouth.
