If you read between the spin, the military presence will remain in the Gulf until they can weed out Saddam. It is an utter no-brainer that he must go. Arabs in Iraq are no different than those in Egypt, etc. Saddam himself has no support anywhere on the planet. Once he's gone, they'll pump oil per pre-Gulf War.

Therein lies the irony. Iraq and America both have a president that is functionally a non-leader. (Is that worse than dissfunctional?)

With respect to getting him out, Seals could do it in a week and make it look like anyone else did it. It would sure help the zipper's trial in the Senate if he (the Seals) were successful.
