Another slice at looking at the performance of the semi-equips from
1995 until the present is to compare the low point of the group in
1995 to Friday's close.

By "eyeballing" the charts that make up the group it is easy to see
that the low point of the group sum occurred in the Jan/Feb time
frame. Rather that carefully analyze the exact date of the low point
point, the date of Friday, 1/27/95 (nearly 4 years ago) was chosen.
It is believed this date, if not the exact low, would provide a sum
value within a very few percentage points of the exact low.

Of the group of 41 stocks, only 27 have data available for that date.
All 41 stocks are shown in the table below, but the sum values are
for the 27 stocks only. Of the 27 stocks, 15 are up and 12 are down.
The spread is very wide running from NANO, up 1307 percent to ASEC,
down 84 percent. The sum value of the group of 27 is up 40 percent.

In summary, this table shows the absolute best case performance of
each of the 27 stocks over the past, nearly 4 year period, with a
"buy and hold" philosophy. Buying later in the year, past the
Jan/Feb time frame, would only provide worse performance. The
absolute worst case performance was essentially provided in the
previous post.
