Incidentally, I have it directly from very "high-ups" at Berkley and Westminster, that the oil companies believe the 7" lap liner failed. I wasn't even aware that a 7" liner was run to 17,640 feet.

It is interesting that you mention this. Another play I am following at South Fort Stockton-Winfield Ranch (Gothic Resources et al.) has had their equipment fail, and are seeking damages from the company that made the equipment. I wonder if the same company was supplies the Lost Hills prospect. Is this type of equipment failure whether it is a liner, casing, or drill typical?
