Current Dell offering is a 15" LCD, resolution is 1024 x 768. The new generation of 18" LCD's has just been released, NEC, Eizo, and IBM offer them. Very nice, and the resolution is 1280 x 1024. 15" panels are around a grand, but can be found for less. The 18" panels just released will cost you 3600 bucks a piece. If you really want to spend, NEC makes a 20" LCD for around 5500 bucks, down from 7 grand. I find the new generation of LCD's crisper than CRT's, and when a digital connection standard is finalized, they will be even better. Right now, Princeton Graphics is offering a digital LCD, with graphics card included. Sun Microsystems is also offering a wide screen LCD, I can't remember what the resolution of that one is off the top of my head. As the price drops, I am hoping to upgrade next year to a dual LCD system with the 18" models. ADSL will also be an 'instant on' option. If you can get cable or ADSL where you live, forget about 56k...
