A question about shorting: Suppose one holds securities that are restricted from trading for the next few months. There are no options yet available on the security. Without the cash to buy a large enough short position, is there any way to lock in the current price? Can one create a private contract to sell when the security becomes unrestricted, then sell the contract through private channels (is this legal?) What about some type of private options strategy? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. James
