Since you feel it necessary to bring up the original unit taunt again, Ish, I will, once more, repeat my answer and ask some questions in return . Not that I expect answers, but if you and you friends don't choose to answer, I will continue to treat your taunts with the respect they so richly deserve.
I have not served in the military, though I respect both the institution and those who have served.
Now, the questions, Ish. Do you think military service should be a prerequisite for voting? For stating one's political views? Should military service be a prerequisite for serving in congress? For running for President? For voting on military matters in the congress? Do you think your service gives you some special insight? Do you think we should have dropped more bombs on Viet Nam, or sent in more troops?
What's the point, Ish? That you and your friends like to taunt people? I know that. It seems you all can dish it out, but get mighty thin skinned when anything comes back. What is it with all you big, tough military guys? Some strange inversion of sticks and stones that happens after boot camp? I do respect the military and those who have served, but I don't particularly respect the idea that having served gives one's words some special sanctity. Are stupid people totally unknown inside the military? |
