This time the bulldozers were real. The old clubhouse had gotten a demolition order and no time was wasted.
The grave was marked by a very small rise in the demolished area, a scar on the landscape. The grass would come first, covering the destruction and preventing erosion. In a few years small shrubs and young aspen would begin to fill in the area. It would be a few generations before young pines slowly began to recover the territory lost.
