One thing that struck me on their web site: they have a counter on the portal page. Anyone tracking hits yet? If they leave it there, that could be a good metric of web traffic.

IMHO, I doubt they'll ever be perceived as an "internet play" for two key reasons: (1) they do maintain a physical inventory, and (2) their web strategy continues to be pretty lame. I've watched their web site for a long, long time and continue to be disappointed. They clearly do not know how to do business online. It's only a matter of time before someone pulls the trigger and launches THE online site for sunglasses. Too bad sunglass hut hasn't assumed a leadership position yet. The window of opportunity may pass them by.

Also, their statement about November results ended with that statement about having plenty of inventory for watch station for december. I remember when they had plenty (i.e. too much) of inventory for sunglass hut as well. After writing off a lot, shutting down orders on key suppliers, and closing the underperforming stores, SSS only grew at 4% for November. Am I the only one who is not excited about that performance?

Hmmm...all of the above sounds really bearish. I don't mean to sound that way in an extreme sense. I continue to follow the hut looking for some fundamental signal of positive momentum. I don't trade to the downside (short, etc.) but look for growth and opportunity. For some reason, I continue to follow sunglass hut and hope they can pull out of the doldrums.
