More on Gary North

David: Here is some more information on Gary North.

In 1979 I got my first job after college, at the time inflation was going up, more lines at the gas pumps and things were not looking that good. I bought a book by Howard Ruff about the coming economic problems. Gary (from my reading somewhere) worked with Howard during the 70's. They were talking then about the coming collapse of the U.S., how most job skills would be no good (you would need to learn to work with your hands to make a living), you should by gold and silver, store a food supply, etc.

I remember thinking, I just got out of college and got a good job and now it is all going to end. Then Reagan was elected and you know the story from there. In 1987 after the stock market crash, I got some mail from Gary North saying it's all going down hill from here and buy his newsletter to find out how to profit and survive. So I did, over a couple of years I found out that his predictions were not any good.

This past spring I subscribed again to Gary's newsletter after he talked about Y2K (I was curious since I am a programmer) after a couple of issues I canceled and got my money back. Gary is still giving the same disaster scenario that he always has, now he is using Y2K as his disaster of choice.

About a week ago I got something in the mail from a firm that sells gold and silver coins, in it they talk about Y2K, they had the following excerpt from Gary North's newsletter, Remnant Review:

"It's 1/1/00, you here pounding at the door, there's a man in a uniform standing there. Behind him at the curb, is a large camouflage-green truck marked FEMA in bold letters. The man says to you, under the powers granted me by Executive Orders, I'm ordering you and your family to come with me.

All up and down the street, you can see men in uniforms, armed with automatic rifles knocking on the doors of your neighbors. (there is then talk about the power being out and other Y2K problems). To protect you during the crisis and to maintain public order, the President has authorized FEMA to move all of you to a central holding area. You are separated by sex and age, your wife is sent to a women's center. Your children are kept at the local armory.

Hey, I have rights, not anymore, haven't you heard? The whole country is under Executive Orders. It was the Y2k bug, it took out everything". (This sounds like the SS rounding up the Jews during WWII).

The above is vintage Gary North, he has written similar things in the past, if you were to go back and read his newsletters over the years you would see the pattern. I far as I'm concerned, Gary North is a NUT CASE!
