X stated in convincing words:". I do understand that the bar for impeachment should not be set too low, but neither should it be set so high that we are left with a President who commands no respect from any but the most partisan supporters."

Thank you, I could not have summed it up any better. I am not a republican, or a democrat, or a libertarian, but I have voted for all three at different times. What sickens me is the belief among some that the *worst* of their particular political persuasion is "better" than the *best* of the opposing side's.

Rubber stamp, knee jerk, both apply. Personally I believe the existence of such an omnipotent figurehead as "president" in this day needs to be more thoroughly examined.

I was watching the respectable proceedings of a press conference with Tony Blair, and I was struck by their "propriety". Then I thought about the notion of a "queen" and all this "royal family" nonsense....and my respect diminished. Leeches, ivory-tower sightless cave fish is all those people are. They need to be put out on their asses and made to earn an honest living. My feeling about the presidency in this country is dammn close to that!
