I can not help with this. Hopefully someone else can.

My Daytona sound card has a SAY IT program. It is a sound recorder. I assume it records from the mike input. I do not have a way to test it for phone hookups.

Recording phone conversations is illegal in many states unless you inform the second party.

My experience using the computer as a phone has not been very good. A standard answering machine works better. My guess is you will have better luck with a tape recording device.

I guess I should check out what they have at Radio Shack for regular recording machines. However, now that you mention it, all I really would need is something that would output the conversation to a regular audio line.

Seems like it would be an obvious capability to add to a FAX/phone application, so they're probably thinking about the legality issue. How do all those companies record and archive conversations? So many introductions start off by saying "this call may be monitored..."
