Yes, it goes almost without saying that these are nuisance suits, and the announcement of legal action is rarely followed by actual litigation. It seems unlikely the lawsuits could ever be won, if pursued. But it will certainly give the less steadfast of shorters some pause, and makes it sound as though the company were a legitimate one pursuing recourse--the appearance of properness being all these companies are interested in.
