Thomas, what is VIX?

The sentiment indicators I track are:

* the 4 surveys published in Barrons. I don't read Barrons, though. I get the numbers free online: investorhome.com

* another survey published free, which I get emailed to me:
lowrisk.com

* CBOE equity options put/call. I follow this rather than the larger put/call ratio because it reflects individual investors and their sentiment, rather than index option hedging practices of institutions, which may be less indicative of sentiment.

I agree that sentiment is so important that it should be discussed, and I'm glad that you showed up to say something.
