I hope they are conservative, Robert. They seemed that way to me, but I wonder where they came from. According to their figures, the most ATHM could expect would be 5-6 million customers in 2004, five years from now. Your estimate is for 16M, about three times as many. And that is based on 1M by the end of the year, which would be a triple from today. I suppose the 1M would be easily attainable with just a 15% (versus a 5%) subscription rate, which seems very low. I think that number could go up very fast once subscribers appreciated the benefits of broadband, assuming the problem of high-use bottleneck periods will be solved.

In either case, I see AOL and ATHM at the two best bets for high growth over the next few years, barring a paradigm shift.
