ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 21, 1998-- Building upon its strong presence in the healthcare industry, Geac SmartEnterprise Solutions today announced that Illinois-based Progressive Health Systems, has selected its full SmartStream Financials and Human Resources software suites. The systems' decision to purchase SmartStream was a key component of its overall strategy to migrate to an enterprise-wide client/server environment in preparation for the Year 2000. Progressive Health selected SmartStream based on its unique workflow capabilities and proven track record of flexibility, advanced functionality, and ease-of-use. Geac's software will initially enable Pekin Hospital, a Progressive Health Systems member organization, to streamline its financial and human resources processes, efficiently manage enterprise data, and dramatically cut operating costs.

When implementation is completed, Progressive Health will be utilizing Geac's full suites of financial management and human resources solutions for the client/server environment. SmartStream Financials applications, including Ledger, Budget, Payables, and Supplies Management, will enable Progressive Health to enhance the productivity of its accounting resources and more effectively analyze its financial information. The SmartStream HR suite, composed of Personnel, Payroll, and Benefits applications, will free the systems' HR staff from redundant administrative tasks, provide greater access to employee data, and efficiently manage the enterprise-wide distribution of that information.
