Greg:

Looks like what DELL gets out of the deal is exposure and a lot of it through the customized version of the AOL software which will have direct links to DELL's web services and MD's plan is to have the customers as quickly on the net as possible without wasting any time. More eye-balls more biz I always say.

Excerpts from Reuters.
.....'Dell users will be able to access a pre-installed, customized version of the AOL 4.0 software that features links to Dell's web services as part of Dell's ConnectDirects program.

ConnectDirect is a wide-ranging technology initiative to provide Dell customers with quick access to the Internet.

''Our goal is to enable Dell customers to be on the Internet within minutes of turning on their machines,'' said Michael Dell, Dell's chairman and chief executive in a statement.'
