Hello people... we put up a third request server on Saturday as part of our work on getting the "half-open" socket problem solved. What we're seeing is that if people do a dirty shutdown of Mach6, there is a combination of Windows not properly closing the socket, and of Linux on the server end not properly dropping a closed socket. Essentially OS kernel bugs on both ends. The third server we put up was running Solaris, and we had diverted all requests to it to see if users half-open socket problems would go away.

Our external router was not routing to this machine though, and while everything passed our tests on the new server, the external routes were not checked and as a result we were all happily using Mach6 internally while the outside users got blocked out.

This was fixed this morning just before market open. Our apologies... we have already issued a credit to everyone to take effect in March because of the issues we've had in gearing up the real-time service.

Part of the reason that we're offering the special promotion pricing is because the real-time rollout is an unknown for us, having done only delayed up until November. We knew that there would be unforseeable issues to be dealt with and we wanted to make sure that people signing up were given a good price to compensate them for the occasional brown-out of service.

Thanks for your patience.
