Summary:

8:41:26 AM 12/21/98 As reported last week in WirelessNOW, Japan's NTT DoCoMo has submitted a compromise document to 3G standards-setters that has been
co-signed by Deutsche Telekom, France Telecom, Telecom Italia Mobile, British Telecom and others. The group has urged factions headed by Ericsson and Qualcomm to
quit fighting over wideband CDMA and cdma2000 technologies so that a standard for 3G technology can be rolled out soon, thus enabling the manufacture of new gear by
2001. The NTT DoCoMo group says in part that settlement of the patents problem should be separate from the current standards process. Reported by the Financial Times,
London via NewsEdge Corporation. No further details available via RoboReply.
