Gold Coin Left In Christmas Kettle - (GRAND JUNCTION) -- The Salvation Army in Grand Junction got an unusual contribution in one of its kettles this week: a gold South African Krugerrand. The Salvation Army says someone dropped the valuable coin without identifying themselves. A local coin company has agreed to buy the one- ounce pure gold coin for the market price of nearly 300- dollars.
They might have been better off to keep it a month or two.
