Bill , re. overclocking
If Intel thought they could raise their clock speeds on the CPUs that are being overclocked , do you not think they would do so ?
The Celeron is being touted as a very overclockable CPU but the reason that Intel is not selling them as higher clock speeds is that they have much shorter life span running at the higher temperatures .
The consumer or business user is not interested in 15% or so faster performance if it comes at the expense of reliability or durability .
Of course the same applies to AMD's processors , without a solid product these higher clockings are useless .
For my personal use I will avoid overclocking .
