Robert,

Just wanted to remind you that you promised to continue this story later in the week. Any further ruminations?

I contacted Herb Greenberg to invite him to reply to some of the speculation on this thread. He refused, but did inform me that he owns no stock nor does he have any short positions. He also said he would never trash a stock to benefit any colleagues in institutional investment firms. What a surprise.

Further, he said C-cube execs had chosen not to respond to his accusations, but had ample opportunity. (I'm paraphrasing) I'm afraid I have to agree with him here. I'm not sure why cube would let him print erroneous analysis of their postion vis a vis esst or any other firm, especially since Herb based his arguments on the bogus association run by Michael Wiley. (still makes me laugh to think of that.)

I've sent another letter to Herb, asking him to apologize for or retract his comments in the 12-20 article. I will also copy the Comical's editor and send along some posts from this thread. I've noticed quite a few folks have reposted your comments on other threads, and I'm sure the Chronicle doesn't want to be trashed by association with Herb. Maybe they'll look into this themselves.

Some folks commented that the WSJ, IBD or Barron's might be interested in looking at this. Would be an interesting case study in how small investors use the net to hold people like Herb accountable. And who knows? A good investigative journalist might discover that Herb's sister in law works for Rocker or some other firm which is very short cube.

I'll let you know if Herb answers my follow-up letter.
