James Tilton told me this morning that he did the reverse split on
CHIF to be able to acquire a beer company in China by getting the
market price of the stock to five dollars so that convertible
debentures would automatically convert to common and they would
then put the asset of the beer company on CHIF balance sheet.
(So far only one market maker has put in a post-split bid and
that is at $0.125.....long way from $5.00). The "Plan" may not
work if the market makers are not going to assume that a 5-cent
bid prior to a 1 for 100 reverse is equal to $5.00 post-split.
The $0.125 equals one-tenth and a quarter pennies prior to the
split.
