I only write puts at a price I would be willing to buy the stock at. Like you, I am looking at AMD as a trading stock and making money here is the name of the game. This put and covered call writing is what I've been doing with AMD for about a year now and I've done better than if I'd bought the stock outright. I wouldn't play this strategy on an investment quality stock, but it works for AMD.
