Fred,

Do you think the average investor can successfully understand and invest in the biotech stocks? I see the area as a growth industry but I can't understand what many of these companies do. One of the stocks I like, Techne TECH, supplies test kits and diagnostics (a case of this company benefitting from the longer term trend), and I can understand this business, but the companies that actually develop the drugs leave me in the dark.

I'm resigned to using a sector fund to get exposure to this area.
