"Coyote Network Systems Helps TSC 'Find' AGT's License"

PR Newswire - December 17, 1998 06:45

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif., Dec. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Coyote Network Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: CYOE) said today it received an inquiry from a reporter with TheStreet.Com (TSC) regarding the licensing status of its American Gateway Telecommunications (AGT) long distance services company. The Company directed TSC's reporter to the FCC's Website which references AGT's "Part 214" License, which was publicly noticed on May 28, 1998. A Part 214 License grants carriers global or limited global facilities-based authority and/or global or limited global resale authority. The TSC reporter claimed an "unidentified source" at the FCC said he could not find reference to AGT's Part 214 License. On Tuesday, the Company issued a news release stating AGT initiated and was carrying international long distance services for a Crescent Communications customer.

A TSC editor also notified the Company that he could not arrange to meet Company officials at its engineering facility in Richardson, TX, on short notice. The Company originally invited James J. Cramer, co-chairman, TSC, to meet with Coyote's chief executive and chief operating officers after TSC published articles the Company believes were incomplete, misleading and caused serious harm to its shareholders, customers and vendors.
