As I recall, during the development of the TurboPac, Turbodyne had problems with the demand on amperage while the electronics were engaging. (engineers could correct me on this, forgive me...I'm a finance guy) Also, from what I recall, it seemed that another company, (un-named in this post) was developing a 'Turbdyne-like' device that used hydraulics, instead of electronics. More later........
