I believe it indicated that for people on prednisone the results were not very good but that for those not on prednisone the results were good.

This is understandable and quite good. Prednisone not only reduces inflammation but also (or probably due to)reduces the effectiveness of the immune system. Prednisone has a number of very bad side effects and if the effectiveness of this treatment is as good or better than that from prednisone then due to the absence of the side effects from prednisone this should be the treatment of choice.

The forgoing reasons also apply to other diseases where prednisone is frequently used, such as Lupus.
