HP Cuts PC Prices

Hewlett Packard Co. has slashed PC prices by up to 20 percent.

Resellers saw reductions covering HP's Vectra corporate PCs, Brio
business PCs, Kayak PC Workstations and OmniBook notebooks.

HP, Palo Alto, Calif. dropped the Vectra VE corporate PC price by
20 percent to an estimated street price (ESP) of $774. Meanwhile,
the Vectra VL PC price should drop by 3 percent to under $1,500.

Nearly 15 percent will be taken off the HP Brio business PC price to
reach an ESP of $699.

The Kayak XA Workstation PC price dropped seven percent to an
ESP of $3,100 while the Kayak XA PC Workstation dropped by
about four percent t o $1,740.
