Stephen : When I receive emails through my ISP I can read and reply to them off line. At SI, I have to be on line. So, there's a small saving.

But the main reason was that someone was harassing me, day and night, and I tried to close off any and every way they could get hold of me. There was no point in deleting my email address because they already knew it. However, I could delete their emails at the server by using a spam filter.
