Hi Imran - are you really in Kinshasa, Rep. Democratique du Congo? We've had two blizzards in the last four days - with more to come!

Here's my two cents worth. Once the tax loss selling season is over (Dec. 31), and following the ICI order and the Annual Report/audited 97/98 year end (released last Friday), when tied to the latest quarter to report (I expect this by Dec. 31) and News of the next airline to place an order (I've seen FedEx reported on the threads) - I propose that NIR will again start to climb in value in the New Year.

For the time being I'm just sitting back and letting events unfold. I most likely won't reassess my NIR position until the middle of next year - as I'm investing in NIR not trading the stock. The worldwide marketing arm of ICI will take time to get rolling with the training phase of their sales staff to be completed by spring (from what I recall reading). Given this - I don't expect the ICI sales to be in full swing until maybe the middle of 1999. I don't have any details on the K-G Packaging sales strategy.

So far so good - with the only hic up being the deferred Aquasol merger. I've just called Aquasol in Calgary (403-263-1100) and Owen is no longer with the company. The person that I did speak to said that the 3rd party lawsuit filed against Aquasol that held up the merger between Napier and Aquasol is still in the courts - and that's as much as they can tell me for now.

The latest Maedel's Mini-Cap Analyst (released today, US$10) has a piece on Napier.
