Dave, I bought AMES at $1 and sold much too early. Mom always said profit and profit often. <VBG> I really like the desert dirts, but must admit to too early an entry. It must be my technical leaning that attracts me, maybe it's just greed? Unfortunately it takes a crowd to move any stock, being too far ahead of the curve has never made me a lot of money. People can understand earnings like what happened with AMES, but the dirts take a lot of speculation. Bre-x, DELGF, and a few others set the time line back for the dirts quite a bit IMO. However, someday one or a few of the dirts I own will make me rich enough that I will never have to read or post to SI again, for fun I'll buy SI and cancel the subscriptions of some my "favorite" posters. <VVBG> Seriously, my favorite dirt is MXAM. They need cash, but have the dirt, technology, and management to get the desired result. I'm also somewhat positive about GPGI, I think they have the dirt, but I currently have a problem with management that never delivers on promises. The advantage in that problem is that the stock can now be bought very cheaply. McKay may be changing that situation, we'll know soon. MGAU may be the real desert dirt market surprise soon. They have created cash flow to internally fund property development and have a consultant that will find good assays and economic recovery (anyway, they will say they have) for a number of different MGAU properties, a speculator's and traders dream. They also have good management. Assay reports are expected at any time. I still own and averaged down recently on CHIP because I got caught with my pants down owning that mismanaged mess. However, CHIP could surprise if Naxos demonstrates recovery on the playa clays or CHIP's new conventional mining operation succeeds. I don't recommend any stocks, that's a personal choice, but owning a few of the dirts with money that you're willing to lose makes a lot of sense IMO. The pennies and especially the dirts are a lot more fun than the "slug" Fortune 500 stuff I hold. Good luck.
