"It is about sex, and it is about lying...given my druthers I'd druther seen him impeached over alleged financial impropriety."
Isn't it the sexual aspect that has really sent people into these apoplectic fits? The lying is certainly an issue, but in my experience when it comes to money or sex, people seem to lose a grasp of honesty. Seems both of these issues are loaded with shame for many, and they would rather lie than risk judgement by others. Got to also say I respect your honoring your vows during your separation from your wife. At 36 I'm still single and am honestly wondering if I could commit the rest of my life to one person. Bill Mahr (host of ABC's Politically Incorrect) has a quote taht rings true for me, "Married people are the worst advertisement for their product."
All of my friends are always asking me when I'm going to get married just after they finish complaining about what a pain in the but marriage can be. In fairness I know a handful of couples who apparently enjoy the institution, and this does give a romantic like me hope, but that hope seems to be dashed more often than not by our country's 50% divorce rate, and my friends' anecdotes.
Tell me about marriage Hubert. Knowing what you do after 11 years, do you recommend it?
