OT
broke down in tears when one young man sang Ave Maria

Sentimental, aren't we?

But I agree -- a good boy soprano is one of the most beautiful sounds in the universe. I have been known to get choked up myself on occasion, though of course being a man I would never admit it.

When I was young we had a record of the Festival of Lessons and Carols from Kings College. Lost the record somewhere in moving sometime. Never found it again. Have never found it on CD. The opening -- "Once in Royal David's City" sung as the choir entered the cathedral, starting at ppppp, barely audible, gradually growing, swelling, as the choir came closer and closer -- gave me goosebumps every time I listened to it, and must have listened dozens of times every year.
