Grayhairs...

In response...

...The most recently "measured" gas rate, with very large volumes of water\hydrocarbon liquids now being produced, has declined to only about 40 MMCF/d only. Does this apparent reduction in gas rate imply a depletion of the gas reserves ?? Absolutely not. The reduction in gas rate can be attributed entirely to the onset of some pretty serious water production, 18,000 bbls/day !!!! To conclude that the reservoir is limited in areal extent simply because the gas rate has declined would be an error in logic.

I understand that water has a tendency to impede the movement of gas when they share the same porous space. I also understand that the decrease in gas is, in all likelihood, a function of that physical reality.

However, isn't this amount of gas (40MMcf/d) inferred from the amount of water speculated to be being vaporized... which in turn is inferred from the Christie speculation of 9000 Bbls/d of water being trucked and as being half the total? That's a lot of relying on the guestimational abilities of a reporter for the Bakersfield Californian in my jaundiced opinion. Isn't it reasonable to assume that the answers to such questions regarding "how much... (oil/gas/water)" would be tightly held by those in charge of the site?

I keep wondering if I've missed something.

Is there another source of information regarding the volume of water being removed from the site and the percentage that it represents of the total besides Bob Christie's reportage? I've been involved with press coverage of events before and I know that wild speculation and unnamed sources are the norm for reporters.

If these numbers are accurate and can be verified through an official source then they are indeed indicative of what lies below. 100Bcf is nothing to sneeze at. This is a 24 square mile prospect.

So, you haven't bought in yet. Your DDs are like mine in a lot of ways.

Be sure to let us know when you issue a buy order. *big smile*

Thanks
