Anshutz is a billionaire, and Qwest has a lot of room for growth, so I'm not so sure he is doing all of this in order to be bought out by someone else.

MCI-Worldcom is one of the users of the network, along with others.

If they bought out Qwest, they would then be supplying lines to their competitors, which would be an interesting situation.
