I certainly understand Washington State Politics because I have studied them for the past 40 years. In 1994, the Republicans had a 7-2 edge in congress in WA. The Democrats now hold a 5-4 edge. After Metcalf gets beaten in 2000, the margin will be 6-3. After the 2000 election, we will once again have two Democratic Senators. All of the people elected to statewide offices are Democrats except the Secretary of State who is a moderate Republican. All of this, thanks to the foolishness of the Republicans in the House of Representatives.
