From Briefing.com: 11:25 ET Dow -4, Nasdaq -17, S&P -4.57: S&P may be going on hold for Fed watch now...at least, the indices stabilize for a while...there is a very strong consensus that the Fed will not change policy by moving the current Fed Funds rate target from 4 3/4% after the easings of October and November...announcement likely at 14:15 ET...there is some talk that the Fed might ease at the next FOMC meeting in February, but that is a minority of Wall Street economists at this point, and a lot could happen between now and then...SOX semi index -8 comes back a bit.
