FYI From the Globe & Mail, Tuesday 22, 1998, B15
Under column of "Market Movers"...

Direct Focus (DFX-TSE)
$18.60, up $2.10
Investors have been pumping up the Vancouver-based company's stock since Dec. 10, when it announced a deal to buy the famed Nautilus line of exercise equipment from South Carolina's Delta Woodside Industries for $19-million (U.S.). Mind you the stock is still down from a high of $19 (Canadian) in July. Direct Focus, which sells Bowflex fitness machines through television infomercials, changed its name form Bow Flex this summer. "What we bought Nautilus for was the name," a spokesman said. "Taking a name like that onto TV can be pretty powerful." Once-thriving Naultilus has floundered for five years under the ownership of Delta, which produces textiles, Delta tried to use the name to sell clothing.
