Roger,
A few questions for you relating to Clinton!
Can you name me an individual that has lied under oath, for what ever reasons, that has his or she job that they had before they lied and been caught or convicted of? This is about the law of this country!
Can you name a corporation or business that an individual could do what Clinton did with Monica and still hold his or her position, or better yet even keep his or her job? This is about morals that superiors in public and private business should have or expected to have!
"If" (he hasn't been convicted yet) he lied under oath should the President be able to get away with it, because he is president? I would hope that you and most Americans would agree that the higher the office an individual holds the higher the standard that individual should hold. Sounds like to me that the opposite holds true according to public opinion polls, in that the higher the office a person holds then we should over look some of their misdeeds!
I still believe if the economy were not what it is today and we were in a decline, Clinton would be history. I grew up being taught good morals which included not to lie, not to cheat, and not to steal under any circumstance (yes I have not lived up to those standards for I am human), but I paid the price when I was caught! I was always told that if I lived my life with high standards it would pay off much more then any financial rewards I may collect by lying, cheating, or stealing in life. So my personal opinion is that this country will be better off in the long run if we lived by high morals and standards, then to blow it off at this time because the President has a high approval rating, (due to the good economy, remember "it's the economy stupied")! Sure we may be hurt financially if he is thrown out, but let's get real and realize MONEY is not everything in the world!
For those that will say that the reason I feel as I do is because I dislike the man, here is my answer to you! I have disliked the man from the 80's when he was here in Arkansas, for I know the kind of man he is and he is not the kind of example I want my children to learn by.
Another reason for this posting is because this is the letter I'm sending to as many senate members as I can get their E-mails too!
Merry Christmas Roger and remember to take time off this season to spend time with the most important things in your life. Do you know why at this point in time is called present? The past is gone and one can no longer live that, the future will never get here, so now is the only time to live and that is why they call it a "PRESENT" the most wonderful gift of all, life at this very point in time!
